FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do Christian Science Practitioners do?

A: Jesus promised that those who understand and live by his example and teachings will be able to heal as he did (click and scroll down to John chapter 14, verse 12). Christian Science practitioners take his promise seriously. For Scope of Services, click here.

This method of spiritual healing humbly acknowledges the presence, omnipotence, and love of our Creator, and our unity with Him/Her as the children of God. Spiritual, prayerful, treatment specifically refutes the issues the patient is facing, beginning with fear, and leads to healing. The Christian Science textbook gives a full explanation and can be accessed in the tab, Additional Resources.

Q: What types of problems can be healed?

A: Difficulties and suffering of all kinds can be healed through the understanding of God, as shown in the Bible and also in thousands of verified testimonies of healing in the Christian Science periodicals. Issues such as fear, sickness, disease, accidents and injuries (including pets), as well as difficulties related to relationships, marriage, mental health, employment, finances, business and legal problems, have been healed through turning to God, who is all-powerful Love.

For examples, click on the Healing tab.

Q: What if I have little religious background, understanding of God, or the Bible?

A: Anyone who chooses to rely upon the pure, spiritual power of divine Love can find healing.

Q: How do I request prayerful treatment?

A: Most often treatment is requested by phone or email (see contact information below.) Some patients make an office appointment, but this isn’t needed, as Jesus showed by healing those who were not with him (click and scroll down to John chapter 4, verses 46-53). Healing treatment can be requested from anywhere in the world.

Q: What’s the procedure?

A: Christian Science treatment does not include psychoanalysis, human advice or counseling, therapies, blind faith or will power, nor reliance upon drugs, vitamins, herbs, or special diets. For Scope of Services, click here.

After I’ve agreed to work for you, I’ll give silent, specific, prayerful treatment which is based upon the presence, power, and love of God, as illustrated by Christ Jesus, and as explained in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. God is the healer, and I’ve seen the power of divine Love dissolve fear and bring healing to a wide array of needs.

Q: How long does treatment continue?

A: I give prayerful treatment one day at a time. If more treatment is desired, you’re welcome to request it.

Q: Is there a fee for treatment?

A: Yes, like other professionals, Christian Science Practitioners charge a fee for each day’s treatment. Click here for current fees.

Q: Why do you charge for treatment?

A: Christian Science practitioners are self-employed, and are not  subsidized or housed by the Christian Science church or by a congregation. The public healing practice of Christian Science is my full-time profession and sole vocation.

Q: Is there anything I can do to support the healing process?

A: Yes, I recommend that patients have a copy of the Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The last hundred pages, titled “Fruitage,” are testimonials by individuals who found healing for themselves and their loved ones simply by reading the book, and how it transformed and lifted their thought. This book and other healing resources can be accessed in the tab, Additional Resources.

Q: I’ve tried to read the Bible, and got bogged down. Any ideas?

A: You might begin with Matthew chapter 5 (scroll down to chapter 5) known as Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount– the central points of his teaching and life. If you don’t have a Bible, you can purchase or read it online in the Additional Resources tab.

Q: Any suggestions for learning how to pray?

A: I recommend the first chapter of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, titled Prayer. About 17 pages long, it concludes with the spiritual sense of the Lord’s prayer, line by line. If you don’t have this book, you can purchase or read it online in the Additional Resources tab.
